About Dr. de Freitas
Dr. de Freitas completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1984. She has been in private practice in Ann Arbor, MI and for the past six years in San Diego. Prior to opening her own private practice, Dr. de Freitas worked for North County Health Services. She is board certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. de Freitas lives in Carmel Valley with her husband
and son - who is at home when not in college in Minnesota
or studying abroad. One of her daughters is presently
in Veterinary School at UC Davis and the other recently
graduated from Wesleyan University and livesin New
York City. Dr. de Freitas is a member of the St.Therese
of Carmel parish. She is also a weaver and swimmer.
In 1998, Dr. de Freitas published a book titled “Keys to your Child’s Healthy Sexuality”. She is the CEO of Healthy Chats, a health educator seminar based company that provides Mother-Daughter seminars on the topic of puberty for mothers and the daughters ages 9-11. For information, please visit:
